This is the master bedroom the day we looked at the house for the first time:
Here it is mid-way. It stayed this way for eight months. Then I got a craving for some color on the walls. White is nice, but I needed a change!
During those eight months, I found these:
and transformed them into these:
Here is the room currently. I went with a rich blue... love the contrast with the white bedding and curtains.
I felt like the dark paint would work in here thanks to light linens and the fact that these windows pull in a lot of light. I haven't regretted the paint choice yet!
I used an old door for the headboard. Primer, paint and some D-rings (and a super awesome husband to help hang it!). I think it cost under $5!

Oooh! It's so pretty! And those nightstands? Hello!
Totally worth the forever wait. I love the mix of furniture! Hmm. Now I want to paint my room.
Beautiful room! I love all of the white against the dark blue. You did a great job. Those end tables are the best!
YAY!!! I'm so happy to see this! It looks terrific! What a bold and AWESOME color choice! You go girl! We did the door/headboard thing too, but went with black. I'm digging yours! And those nightstands - to DIE for! That was a good find!
I am catching up. Liked seeing the pieces before you'd painted them.
It's a nice room now!
